SecondVice President’s Report
What does a field rep do all day?
Part II
If the readers recall, I addressed this in my Septem- ber article, and it seemed to be appreciated. Since then, I’ve made my best attempt to continue main- taining a worklog, which actually comes in handy at times. In September, a few members suggested sub- mitting a week’s worth, but I felt that two weeks of a worklog would give a better understanding of what a field rep does every day. I believe the content in the September issue could have filled a four-page spread, so for this issue, I’m shortening it up and submitting one week’s worth of the worklog.
Sticking with what I submitted in September, I’m also sticking to what was recommended to me in regard to privacy and transparen- cy. The listed times are approximate and are to the best of my rec- ollection. Names of members and specific issues are left out for pri- vacy, and some of these issues are still ongoing. Although members’ names are not listed here, I have maintained a record in my worklog.
My primary focus as a field rep is to prepare and present defens- es at monthly Binding Summary Opinion hearings for CR numbers that resulted in reprimands up to 30-day suspensions. The work to- ward this prep, including writing position statements, may not be listed in the below worklog.
