Clarifying the standards for oversight
At the Oct. 25 meeting of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB), Chicago Lodge 7 pre- sented reasons why the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) should not be allowed to have its lead homicide investigators work cases of police-involved shootings. Here is the letter the ILETSB sent Chicago Lodge 7 following the meeting.
