Adaptation of this design came from many different posters, ads and images.
The “Painted Horse” I had as a child was black, brown and white with brown eyes.
My artistic license and color enjoyment helped create this watercolor horse design. My neighbor has a large palomino horse, Taffy; I sketched and photographed him to develop his “wild mane look.” The addition of water splattering and field flowers was fun.
I have had many comments about my painted horse design. It can also be done on a 12x16 canvas using acrylic paints. Enjoy this pattern and use the background and reflected
tones to match your color preferences and wardrobe.
Your shirt color will help you determine the base color. Use it! I recommend lighter colors to let your design “pop.”
Darker colors will work but will take more work
(advanced student).
