A TRIBUTE TO MOLLY DENTON
Written by Ann Kingslan MDA
Every time I see a flamingo, I think of Molly Denton. She regaled us with stories about them and how crafty figures of them would magically appear in her yard and other parts of her house. When she was on the Board, a group of us painted and signed a mobile flamingo to hang above her bed when she had back surgery. Molly was the funniest person I knew (besides my daughter, Mary). I felt that if they partnered, they could be successful at stand-up comedy.
On the serious side, Molly was a dedicated, hard-working SDP President. Her humor often relieved tense situations. Her health problems caused her to put her painting career on hold, but we did try to keep in touch.
She was my student at many seminars, a great painter, leader, and most of all, a good friend. I will miss my flamingo loving friend.
