These sweet little chicks are a drawing I’ve had for more than a couple of years waiting to be painted. These color choices seem to have the feeling of a vintage postcard. My hope is you will enjoy them too.
PAINTING TIPS
• When blending across the background, go from edge to edge to avoid stop and start brush marks.
• When floating in very small areas, it is helpful to use a 1/8" or 1/4" angle brush.
• When painting a bird, paint the eye when doing the original basecoat. This always helps with the color placement for the next steps.
• Most shading or highlight is applied with floated color unless stated otherwise.
PREPARATION
Seal the plaque with DecoArt Multi-Purpose Sealer, let dry, and lightly sand the surface. Wipe off any excess dust.
