 no. 2 liner, casually line the veins and stems with Medium Green. Using a no. 4 filbert, basecoat the daisy petals with Dark White Mix. Use a no. 8 filbert to glaze over the border with Dark Blue. Dry completely. Use a no. 2 liner to line the border Dark Red. Thin the paint with water for linework. tHird LaYer: Using the wet-on-wet method, work one side of the desk at a time. Use a no. 8 filbert to float the second shade color on the strawberry with Dark Red. Use the same brush to float a second shade color on the leaves and strawberry top with Dark Green. Use a no. 2 liner to ca- sually over-stroke the veins and stems in the shaded area of the leaves with this same color. Use a no. 6 filbert and Dark Yellow to float a shade color on the flower centers. Brush- mix a little Dark Blue+Paynes Grey (1:1) and over-stroke the border again, using a no. 8 filbert. This layer should be more textured. Use a little less paint in the brush. Start in the corners and pull toward the center, leaving some of the previous layer showing through. Dry completely. FoUrtH LaYer: Using the wet-on-wet method, work one side of the desk at a time. To highlight the strawberry, fully load a no. 6 filbert with Light Red, wipe out the excess paint and touch the brush in the center of the strawberry, blending to soften the color as you move away from the highlight center. Pick up a little Light White in your dirty brush and, using the same method, build up your high- light. Use a no. 8 filbert and just a small amount of Dark Red to glaze the leaves here and there. Use a mop brush to soften. With a no. 2 liner, lightly add some Dark Red to the stems and veins. Be careful – use just a little. Use a no. 2 filbert to over-stroke the daisy petals with Medium White. Highlight the daisy petals with an over-stroke of Light White. Use a no. 2 liner and Dark Red to darken the linework around the design in the corners, fading to the center of the design. Dry completely.
FiFtH LaYer: Using the wet-on-wet method, work one side of the desk at a time. Using a no. 8 filbert, highlight the
leaves with a float of Light Yellow. Shade the strawberry with Purple. Shade the leaves and with a no. 2 liner. Line the veins and stems Dark Green+Purple (1:1). Highlight the flower centers using the corner of a no. 8 shader, first Medium White then over-stroke with Light White. Dry completely. siXtH LaYer: Using the wet-on-wet method, work one side of the desk at a time. Using a no. 8 filbert, glaze here and there on the leaves, on the strawberry and on the daisies with Medium Yellow. Using a no. 1 round brush, dot the seeds on the strawberry with Purple. Over-stroke the seeds with Dark Yellow. Over-stroke the seeds again in the highlight area with Medium Yellow. In the brightest area of the highlight over-stroke the seeds again, using Light Yellow. With your dirty brush, pick up a little Light White and touch a few seeds in the brightest area. Dry completely.

Start with the wet-on-wet method. Use a no. 12 shader to basecoat the book pages with Medium White. The basecoat on the book pages should be almost opaque. Avoid basecoating the areas where the blue blocks will be. Use a no. 4 filbert to basecoat the book cover and the pencil well with Dark Blue. Avoid basecoating the pen- cil design. Using a no. 8 filbert glaze over the border with Medium Blue. When the surface is dry, use a no. 2 liner to line the page separations with Dark White. Use the same brush to line the blocks on the book pages and to line the border Dark Red. Line the border around the pencil well,
using a ruler to help keep the pencil well straight. second LaYer: Start with the wet-on-wet method. Float to shade the pages of the book using a no. 12 shader and Raw Umber.
