  Appendix 2 / Checklist for facilitators of peer-to-peer groups
These are some brief checklists to help facilitators as they work through the process of forming and running a peer-to-peer group. Use this as a quick prompt to make sure you have covered the essentials.
 Group Establishment
Collect contact details from all group members
First Group Meeting
Create a meeting run sheet
Amend the run sheet based on group needs
Activity Planning
Ensure you are clear on the outcome of the activity for the group
Design group activity and write runsheet
Plan and develop a run sheet for the activity
Include time for reflecting on the previous activity at the start
Check in with the expert(s) for the activity,
if applicable, so they understand what is required
Delivering effective extension activities
Provide pre-work to group
Keep the six pack stages in mind as you facilitate the activity
Facilitator toolkit
Flip chart paper
Coloured markers/ textas Post-it notes
Discuss expectation of the facilitator
During the meeting cover the following:
y group member roles (e.g. lead farmer) y agree on group name
y agree on ground rules
Design pre-work for activity or work with the expert to determine pre-work for the activity. This could be:
y brief survey to find out what members already know
y one to two questions asking group members to reflect on
what they want from the activity
y asking group members to email/text a photo of something relevant to the facilitator
y asking group members to bring a sample in to use as part of the activity (e.g. soil, plants)
Outline facilitator and expert costs
Allow time at the end to reflect on one action each member can take
Use this reflection to help develop post-work for the activity
