 2 Organising an initial meeting
Facilitators should run through the following six stages (the ‘six pack’) at the first meeting of the action group:

Group members introduce themselves and their business.
Set the expectation that the group will have open and honest discussions. Share stories.
   2. Start with purpose
Remind the group of the opportunities that exist through peer-to-peer groups and any available support they can access.
   Establish ground rules for the group, exploring how formal the group is going to be as part of the ground rules (e.g. meeting protocols and frequency of meetings).
Gain agreement then record them and revisit at the start of each session. Decide on a name for the group.
   4. Get people moving
Explore the focus/objectives for the group – use any information from connecting the group.
   5. Respect difference
Ensure that all members of the group contribute to the discussion. Ensure reflection time is built into the day.
   6. Close with purpose
Check in with each business in the group.
Talk through the costs of running the group, including any external funding that may be available.
