It starts with tight construction reduced internal leaks and drafts thanks to special framing techniques and improved insulation systems including the the use of low-e glass and other materials with high thermal properties We also use combustion-safe appliances that are either sealed or power-vented to help avoid the build- up of carbon monoxide We use only “right-sized” HVAC equipment with both high SEER ratings and e e cient air ventilation and ltration This reduces dust odors and indoor contaminants Through a a a combination of return air ducts transfer grilles or jumper ducts we are able to pressure balance the home which in turn enables air to circulate more easily This also helps to manage moisture by decreasing
the humidity that naturally passes through the the home All these measures work to make Ashton Woods homes not only energy e e e e e cient but also healthier and safer for every family 12
