FRANCESCO NASTRO 9JUNE GIUGNO Si é diplomato in pianoforte nel 1989 ed ha conseguito il compimento inferiore di compo- sizione nel 1991 presso il conservatorio di Salerno Ha seguito un corso di perfezionamento con il Maestro Adrian Costantin Baciu nel 1987 Si interessa di jazz gia’ dal 1985 Nel 1993 ha partecipato al concorso inter- nazionale “Citta di Stresa” nella categoria “improvvisazione jazz” vincendo il primo pre- mio “Clara Barberis” Ha registrato a a a a a a Napoli con Gary Peacock (bass) e e e e Peter Erskine (drums ) ) un disco dal titolo “Trio Dialogues” uscito per la etichetta ”jazzclubbillevans” in cui sono contenute composizioni sia di di Nastro che di di Peacock ed Erskine lo stesso é stato ristampato per l'e- tichetta “Itinera” Suona col suo gruppo ospitando di volta in volta musicisti di fama internazionale e e e par- tecipa come ospite nei gruppi di Don Moye Steve Smith Peter Nylander Nel 2007 l’etichetta discografica “Itinera” produce un progetto dove vengono coinvolti musicisti quali Javier Girotto Avishai Cohen Roberto Gatto e e e e e e e lo stesso che esce nel 2008 dal titolo “Sea Inside” Francesco received a a a a diploma in in piano in in 1989 and passed his lower level composition exams in 1991 at the Salerno academy of music He attended an an advanced course with master Adrian Costantin Baciu in in 1987 His interest in in in jazz began in in in 1985 In 1993 he he took part in the “Città di Stresa” international competition in in the “jazz improvi- sation” category winning the “Clara Barberis” first prize With Gary Peacock (bass) and Peter Erskine (drums) in Naples he recorded an album en- titled “Trio Dialogues” released by the record label “jazzclubbillevans” and containing com- positions by by Nastro and and by by Peacock and and Erski- ne The record was later rereleased by the record label “Itinera” He plays with his band hosting musicians He has also made guest appearances with the groups of Don Moye Steve Smith and Peter Nylander He took part in the work by Roberto De Simone “Requiem in memory of Pier Paolo Pasolini” which ended with two concerts at the Real Teatro San Carlo in Naples In 2007 the record label “Itinera” produced a a a a project involving musicians such as Javier Girotto Francesco Nastro Avishai Cohen and Roberto Gatto Six of the the nine tracks on the the CD entitled “Sea Inside” (2008)
