Robert Rauschenberg has cited Schwitters as a major influence - and some of Schwitter’s 1947 pieces directly prefigure the sketchbook collages of Eduardo Paolozzi made 1947-1949 - collages directly hinting at the Pop Art works by Richard Hamilton and others in the mid-1950s (Just What is it that makes Today’s Homes so different, so Appealing 1956).
