Étienne-Jules Marey: walking and running man c1882-1894 - superimposed motion-capture
Marey perfected his chronophotographic gun in 1882 - a camera capable of taking 12 consecutive frames/second recorded all the frames superimposed on the same picture. Much more of a scientist and inventor of scientific instrumentation, Marey’s chronophotography played a key role in the imminent development of moving - pictures.(Lumiere: Cinematograph 1895).
