ECCO’s latest fall/winter collections highlight its
dedication to innovation and design.
By Haley Dach
S ince its inception more than 60 years ago, ECCO has remained a
family-owned company that has expanded to sell in 93 countries
and employ over 22,000 people worldwide. Through all its success,
ECCO continues to stay humble and put the importance of comfort
above all else, without compromising the style. In its Fall/Winter
2024 collection, ECCO showcased its focus on producing premium-
quality leathers, with womenswear offerings including lightweight
sneakers, hybrid boots, a range of sandals, and elevated loafers in
multiple colourways.
A key component to ECCO’s iconic comfort is the FLUIDFORM™
Direct Comfort Technology, developed over three decades ago. This
technology creates ergonomically advanced soles by directly bonding
them to the upper without glue or stitching. The seamless one-piece
construction, featured in all ECCO outdoor shoes, ensures durability,
comfort, and performance through all different weather conditions
and terrains. Each style features advanced waterproof protection and
includes ECCO Dual Fit, a removable insole that allows the wearer to
adjust the sole to their foot shape and size for a customizable fit.
Releasing alongside the ECCO Fall/Winter 2024 collection is a new
drop with Natacha Ramsay-Levi, a French designer who previously
worked at Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, and as creative director of Chloé
from 2017 to 2020. Ramsay-Levi’s latest collection with ECCO,
blends practicality with bold design. Drawing inspiration from sports,
function, and colour played a large part in the design, with elevated
and dressy styles in boots and loafers showcasing the versatility of not
only the designer, but footwear in general for women. While a number
of the styles feature a higher heel, Ramsay-Levi incorporated ECCO
FLUIDFORM™ technology for added comfort and flexibility. “There
is something very special, super authentic, super true about ECCO. It’s
honest and direct. I’m very impressed by the way everything is done: the
management of people and innovations—technical innovations, but also
the way they constantly search for new designers, new collaborations,
young people. It’s proof of how open and how modern I feel ECCO is,
and how authentic. It’s here, it’s present, it’s real,” says Ramsay-Levi on
her ongoing creative partnership with the brand.
This release follows closely on the heels of the second ECCO
collaboration with Italian design duo RAL7000STUDIO. The
collection, envisioned in Italy and engineered in Denmark, blends the
best of technology and design in luxury streetwear styles. As ECCO
continues to evolve with its own progressive collections and forward-
thinking collaborations, the brand is constantly pushing the boundaries
of style and function. The anticipation for what’s next is at an
all-time high.
The ECCO Autumn-Winter 2024 collection is available in stores and online now.
