NEAT TIME
LAST MONTH, AS THE DAYS BEGAN TO DRAW IN, SHARP AND THE
Dalmore celebrated the launch of The Sherry Edition — the first release in the whisky maker’s new Cask Curation Series. Hosted in The Dalmore Cask Curation Lounge, a space recently established in the LCBO’s flagship Summerhill store in Toronto, one of just 150 sets available worldwide was on show for VIP guests to admire.
Swathed in red leather, The Sherry Edition contains a trio of matured whisky expressions paying homage to the age-old partnership between The Dalmore and González Byass, one of the finest winemakers in southern Spain. But the lounge’s offerings extended beyond this unique collectible centrepiece. The space was built to showcase the brand’s unique portfolio of whiskies, and was the setting for several exclusive dinners and tastings this fall. Guests of SHARP even had the pleasure of sampling other single malts from The Dalmore, including the warming Cigar Malt Reserve.
Throughout the evening, small plates were also provided by chef Stuart Cameron, of Prince Edward Country’s acclaimed Bocado restaurant, and Toronto- based calligrapher and engraving artist Carissa was on steady hand to ensure guests left with their own, perfectly personalized bottle of The Dalmore’s Port Wood Reserve, itself a stellar whisky in the distillery’s lineup. It was an excellent memento of the evening and a reminder that, from its core cornerstones to its limited editions, The Dalmore remains at the forefront of blending tradition with innovation.
