   Chapter 2
Vincent was devastated at this point, he felt a mixture of anger and sadness. He trudged downstairs, not knowing where he was headed. His feet slammed heavily against the thick spiralling platforms. In the center of the basement stood an unidentified object, covered in a thick, dark-brown cloth. Out of curiosity, Vincent dried his tears and stepped slowly towards the object. He gently touched the dusty cloth and removed it to reveal what lied beneath it...an ancient mirror. The tall looking glass that he stared into was encircled by a thick, wooden frame with strange engravings of different symbols and letters. His reflection was distorted and rippled from left to right as if it was liquid. He raised his right hand and forced it straight through the mirror causing the reflective substance to mould around his wrist, but unfortunately, he was unable to undo his action because his hand was now stuck.
