is a gram-negative bacterium; Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus thuringiensis, that are gram-positive bacteria; and yeast, from the fungus family.
The concentrations of the components in our solution found to be the most effective for disinfecting all the groups of organisms tested )gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, and fungi( are--Cu2+\ascorbic acid at 0.05 M and MeCN at 0.26 M. This solution was applied to food wastes with high contaminant loads and was found to be completely effective for their total sterilization in just ten minutes. This disinfectant efficiency lasted over four hours at a constant temperature of 40 oC, even in cases that had a high contaminant load. As part of the present study, a procedure was formulated for the preparation of dry and sterile food with a long shelf-life )over three months). This procedure includes several stages: grinding the food wastes, sterilization, squeezing, rinsing, and drying, to obtain
dry and sterilized granules with high nutritional value. The procedure we developed is intended for implementation in a compact facility, where all the necessary steps are carried out in order, turning the human food wastes into a dry and safe end product for animal consumption.
