This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts of acoustics and and vibration theory and and measurement It is intended for those who are new to to to these topics but also to to to those with modeling backgrounds who may now need to have a a a a a greater connection to acoustic and vibration testing The class topics include: introductory acoustic and vibration theory basic basic instrumentation and transducer concepts basic basic spectrum analysis concepts Objectives
• To give a a a a a a basic understanding of signal analysis using FFT and Order analysis techniques
• To teach how to perform correct Signal analysis on
on
non- stationary conditions such as a a a a a run-up or machine shut down • Cover the measurement resolution and limitations related to to test conditions and teach how to to extract the best possible vibration or or noise order data • Learn to to use various diagnostic tools like Envelope analysis Angular Vibration
Time Synchronous analysis Order Tracking and others
• Learn about Structural analysis like ODS Prerequisites – None required
Participants – Intended for those new to sound and vibration Material Testing
This 1⁄2 day course will introduce attendees to material acoustic testing Topics will include: an overview of the various material tests including impedance tube absorption and transmission loss loss reverberation room absorption transmission loss loss and beam damping tests Special emphasis will be be placed on
the simple interpretation of results results and using the results results to make real world decisions to improve material performance Objectives
• Understand core principles for material testing • Introduction to using Bruel & Kjaer 4206 Material Testing
Tube • Teach attendees to understand data from material testing results Prerequisites – None required
