IGCSE Mathematics
As you delve into the realms of trigonometry or algebra during your GCSE
course, it is important to recognise that Mathematics is more than just a set
of intricate rules or processes. A well-trained mathematician is not just good
with numbers, but has great logical skills, tremendous analytical power and the
ability to make connections across diverse fields. These are the skills which you
will develop with your teacher over the duration of this course. Mathematics
is not just at the heart of a school’s curriculum but it is also at the heart of
knowledge. As Archimedes said, “There are many things that seem incredible
to most who have not studied Mathematics.”
Course Outline:
This course consists of
2 papers which both
comprise 50% of the
course. A calculator can
be used during both
papers.

“Maths at Seaford has helped me develop numerous skills such
as problem solving which has supported my wider studies.
Each topic follows the same format meaning I understand
what I am meant to be doing at every stage of the lesson.
Worksheets come with answers so that I am able to check my
own work immediately. This helps develop my confidence in
Maths and when I am wrong I am able to ask for help at the
right moment.”
