What do you study at Seaford?
A Level Maths, Further Maths and Biology
Why did you choose your subjects?
I love Maths and the logic, it’s really enjoyable. The teaching at Seaford is great. I really like Biology too. I don’t know what to do in the future. I love to learn and I’m enjoying the academic side of Seaford.
Why did you choose Seaford?
We came for an Open Day and all the teachers were very friendly and the atmosphere was really calm. There’s a buzz about Seaford. It’s lived up to my expectations and surpassed them!
How is Seaford different from your previous school?
It’s about what schools value; my previous school valued talent and natural ability, but Seaford values resilience and hard work and everyone is accepted. Academic ability is equal to skills in art, sports, etc. The support at my old school wasn’t as great as it is at Seaford. I don’t struggle academically but at my previous school I felt I was being undermined. I am a more balanced person at Seaford.
Do you have a role model?
I admire my Dad. He is very hard working and has strong morals of what is right and wrong. He can make decisions, I like that.
What are you doing for your EPQ
The title I’ve chosen is, “How Maths links to Music”. I’m looking forward to writing about the link between the two.

What do you study at Seaford?
A Level Biology, Geography and PE
What do you aspire to do?
I want to read Biology at university but I’m still trying to work out what type of course to do, possibly straight Biology or something else. I really like Biology but I probably won’t want a job connected to it.
What do you like about Biology?
I’m not sure! Which is why I’m not sure exactly what course to go for. With Biology, there’s a deeper story to everything. You can just go deeper and deeper into it. The way the teachers teach the subject has always helped me to enjoy it. I like the way that the subject builds as you get older. You start off learning about cells, and it builds from there. Mr d’Agar is an amazing teacher, the best I’ve ever had.
Do you think the Seaford culture challenges you to do your best?
I think the teachers really care. They push you and if you’re not pulling your weight, they will be honest with you and tell you. The teachers know what you are capable of and therefore push you to do your best. They will tell you what you need to do to reach your goal (A grade). At A Level you go into the subject more deeply so you have to really know your subject. At GCSE you can just learn your notes, A Level is very different.

What do you study at Seaford?
A Level Biology, Business and BTEC Sport
Why did you chose those subjects?
I want to be a physiotherapist so need Biology and Sport so chose BTEC Sport as it allowed a bit more time to focus on Biology. I also study Business, because everyone in the family is in business. I’ll be running my own business so I need to learn about it.
How would you describe the transition from GCSE to A Level?
Smooth. The induction trip to Wales helped to meet the new students. Teachers are very supportive and understanding of the jump between GCSE and A Level and help you to achieve your goals. It was a bigger jump than I was expecting, particularly in Biology. I felt loaded with work at the beginning and I had to be on top of things right from the start otherwise I would be behind with the work.
Will you do an EPQ in Year 13?
I expect so, it’s such a small chunk of work in order to gain more points so you might as well do it. I expect I’d do a topic related to sport.
