                 Latin
Head of Subject:
Mrs C Edworthy
Summary of Programme for Year 9:
Year 9 provides an opportunity
for experienced students to consolidate what they have already learned with a view to progressing onwards towards GCSE. Using well-known and entertaining classical stories as source material, they will practise their language skills and build vocabulary. Classes tend to be small with ample individual attention given.
Although Year 9 is late for starting GCSE Latin, it could also be an opportunity for enthusiastic and able linguists to give it a try.
Though be warned - there will also need to be a commitment to private study!
Does the Year 9 course include any elements of the GCSE?
Everything students learn in Year 9 will be relevant to the vocabulary and grammatical skills needed for GCSE.
