 Meet

Most likely to hear you say:
“This won’t take long,” but it always does.
Favourite quotation: Working with teenagers, I love the Bertrand Russell’s saying: “The world is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.”
Favourite subjects in school:
Languages and History
Hobbies or interests: I have a very low boredom threshold so
I move on quickly! Currently, it’s triathlon except the swimming bit, Arabic, guitar and the tennis/ squash crossover sport, pádel. And Gloucester Rugby, always.
Desert island meal: Something simple like picanha (Brazilian rump steak) with all the side dishes like the feijoada (black bean stew) and a few caipirinha cocktails. Yum.
Top things to do: Travel to places where you can get into trouble if you’re not careful, and live music. Not having much musical talent, it fascinates me.
Top thing on your bucket list:
Ride one of the famous climbs from the Tour de France or the Vuelta a España.
Favourite place: I’ve been very lucky to travel to and work in some amazing countries in Europe, as well as the USA and Africa. Seville, Chicago and Cape Town are right up there.
I can see myself having a third career in Andalucia and Morocco instead of retiring, it’s a magical area rich in history, language and fantastic food.
Are you living your best life:
Definitely! I work with 270 of
the funniest, most creative, challenging people you’ll meet.
I have to constantly adapt to change. One minute I get to stand up in front of a class and communicate my passion for languages; the next, I have the privilege of helping students shape their futures academically or work with my pastoral team to solve a huge variety of problems. It’s extremely rewarding.
                  Introduction
Acting Head of Sixth Form, Jon Jones
Sixth Form at Seaford is about going beyond the classroom experience and seeking success in everything we do and offer. Personal bests will only happen in an environment that is conducive to developing students that are happy, supported and engaged in everything they do.
To ensure that each and every student achieves their personal bests, my role as Acting Head of Sixth Form means knowing every individual’s goals and limiters, as well as encouraging them to take full advantage of the co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities offered across the College. From the very beginning of life in Year 12, where the GCSE rollercoaster has just come to an end and we are on the coach to Dorset for the residential induction trip, right through to the final examinations, assignment deadlines and the Leavers’ Ball at the end of Year 13, we
are pushing towards personal bests in everything we do. Seaford Sixth Formers are fully engaged in every aspect of life.
Boarding, day and international students all play a vital role as part of our College community and are treated as individuals. Whether they
are involved in academic excellence, sporting success or enrichment activities, the wealth of opportunities is limitless at Seaford. Alongside all of this, our pastoral support is second-to-none, and some of our students support this process as peer mentors and prefects. We strive forward together and work towards achieving excellence across College life.
I urge you to explore what is on offer here; see and hear what our students say and think; come and have a conversation with us about the Seaford Sixth Form of which we are proud to be a part.
