TIMS FORD LAKE,
a 2,200 acre lake, is one of the most pic- turesque lake areas in all of Tennessee! Its waterway is 34 miles in length. Its dam is 175 feet high and 1,580 feet across the Elk River. It flood-storage capacity is 219,600 acre-feet.
If you are looking for outdoor recreation, it’s there, including fishing, boating, and swimming. And yes, the fishing great! If you are serious about fishing, from bluegill to bass, this is one of the top fishing lakes in the Southeast.
If you are looking for some fun on the water, jet skis, pon- toon boats, fishing boats and canoes can
be rented at the marina. There are a number of sites to launch your own boat.
TIMS FORD STATE PARK is situated along the shore of Tims Ford Lake, offering lodging besides two camp- grounds for tent and RVs. Speaking of camp- ing, there are six islands where campers can camp in the lake or the Turkey Creek area.
If you are into bicycling or hiking, miles of beau- tiful trails await you in the park. In fact, there are over six miles of paved trails connecting different areas of the park. If that isn’t enough, there are an- other 22 miles of unpaved trails. While you are bik- ing or walking, beautiful views of Tims Ford Lake await you.
BEAR TRACE golf course is located in our state park. This cham- pionship 18-hole golf course is part of the Jack Nicklaus-designed col- lection. Tims Ford Lake provides golfers with
a scenic background from most holes on the course. In fact, several holes involve the lake. The golf course is not only challenging but beautiful as well. FRANKLIN COUNTY
PAVILIONS are available for rental. From the Farmers Mar- ket Pavilion to the Dry Creek Beach Pavilion
or the Southern Middle Tennessee Pavilion, they are waiting to serve your group.

Vice-Chancellor emeritus Joel Cun- ningham stated, “We
are a university dedi- cated to liberal educa- tion, to time-honored traditions, and to our commitment to serve our students and this nation. We have been successful in advancing our mis- sion, and I believe we have the resources and the will to ensure that Sewanee’s best years are still to come.”
