bolt in place of the stock
radiator and provide a vast
improvement over stock cool-
ing. Some applications have
internal oil coolers for auto-
matic transmissions. Available in the Standard series with 1" tubes or the Pro-Series with 1-1/4" cooling tubes.
Ford Universal Radiators Ford* radiators have two
rows of 1" diameter cooling tubes. Outlets are top right, bottom left.

           Cooling System Update
When it's time to update the cooling system with a new radiator, there
replaced, a new cap should be used. If the wrong pressure cap is used on a new system or the rubber seal is worn out, the entire cooling system will be affected. The more pressure that can be held in a closed system, the higher the boiling point. It is recommended to run the highest pound pres- sure cap the system can handle. For every pound of pressure in a closed system, the boiling point is increased by 3°F. Thus a 16psi. cap increases the boiling point to 260°F. If the cooling system cannot hold pressure, en- gine heat builds more quickly, causing the engine to run hot much sooner than normal. This means that an improperly sealed system will boil prema- turely. Another often overlooked item is the thermostat. If a thermostat warm up period can result in the creation of engine sludge, increased - terior heating system will take longer to operate. The last item that needs enough coolant the system will be totally inadequate. One reason for lack - lower RPM's, the water pump is being driven at a slower speed, causing a
