Today is Here
I woke up this morning, barely leaving my bed before thoughts rushed my mind of the future ahead.
As I watched through the window, the sun rose o’er the tide
and blessed was I with clarity from what I witnessed outside.
This day has arrived, with its minutes in motion dancing in the sunshine to the rhythm of the ocean.
So why am I counting
on time in advance when tomorrow’s a gamble, a risk and a chance?
Today is here;
it is the now I am living,
as I am receiving
the wondrous gifts it is giving.
Today is here;
I won’t let the future borrow the time I have now
on an uncertain tomorrow.
Things happen regardless of how well they are planned; on them I won’t waste minutes I am holding in my hand.
Time itself is a magician who makes things disappear; tomorrow is not guaranteed; but, alas, today is here.
