The Fireboy® manual feature is a backup for those who prefer the extra measure of control or for inspected vessels who are required by U.S. Coast Guard regulation. Diesel-powered craft must install Automatic Engine Shutdown System. MA2 Series fire extinguisher systems feature positive backup via a mechanical pull cable. Primary activation (heat response) is automatic at 175° F (79° C).
WARNING: Diesel-powered craft must also install the Automatic Engine Shutdown System.
• USCG and FM approved. • Actuation temperature: 175° F (79° C) • Mechanical actuation possible with pull cable assemblies and
must be installed in order to retain USCG and FM approvals. Other cable lengths available from 6' to 100' through special order (allow 2-4 weeks).
• Models protecting enclosures from 25 cubic feet (.71 cubic meters) through 600 cubic feet (17 cubic meters) may be installed vertically or horizontally.
• Models protecting 650 cubic feet (18.4 cubic meters) through 1500 cubic feet (42.4 cubic meters) may be installed vertically or tipped to 60° off horizontal (30° off perpendicular).

HIGH-TEMPERATURE MANUAL DISCHARGE CABLES
Fireboy High-Temperature Manual Discharge Cables allow for the manual discharge of an MA2 or GA Series system when smoke or flames are detected and meet the U.S. Coast Guard flame-test guidelines for fire resistance. Determine the length of cable needed by measuring from the extinguisher head to the desired location where the red T-handle can be easily pulled. Use the shortest allowable cable when possible. Maximum allowed bending of the cable (in degrees) should not exceed 360˚ and should be taken into consideration when
selecting the cable length.
