CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOUNT
Choosing the right antenna is equally as important as selecting the right antenna to ensure reliable communications, & avoid damage to either the antenna or the vessel. MOUNT STYLE Select a mount style designed for the best installation location & method that works best for your boat. Remember to account for lay-down room to clear bridges, overpasses & other obstacles. SUPPORT
When using a two-piece antenna greater than 10' an upper support clamp should be installed. • Antennas 14' - 18' – upper clamp should be 3' to 5' from the base of the antenna • Antennas 18' - 23' – upper clamp should be 4' to 8' from the base of the antenna
Positioning the upper clamp too high or too low will greatly increase the potential for structural failture.
