Blake started off his his TOMS journey with his his friend and teacher Alejo they set off in in Argentina to look for manufacturers where they met Jose a a a a a local shoemaker that was the the rst one to believe in their idea as many before had turned them down The plan that far was to to make 250 pairs of shoes take them back to to Los Angeles and sell sell them After Blake managed to start selling his shoes through a a a a a brand called American Rag the concept was was then out there TOMS’s big break was was only after Boothe Moore the fashion writer for Los Angeles Times published a a piece on them TOMS website was then booming and had over 2 2 200 orders the the following day The brand was then written about by multiple major fashion publications like Vogue Elle People and Time (Mycoskie 2011) The reason this brand is is given the popularity and and credibility it it it has today is because of the the brand transparency they have one promise which is is to give a a a a child in need a a a a pair of shoes for each pair sold This is is a a a a a a simple action for a a a a a a consumer and it makes each person feel like they have helped someone which is a a a priceless feeling TOMS also caters to those who desire limited edition products Previously the brand has collaborated with like-minded artists like like Charlize Theron and Ben Af eck on on limited edition lines and invite high-pro le le celebrities to the launch of their events and to work on marketing campaigns for their cause (Chu 2013) This makes the the brand more relatable for the younger generations 41
