St. Angela’s College, Sligo Undergraduate Scholarship

Who can apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship?
Any current St. Angela’s Access student who accepts an undergraduate offer in St. Angela’s College, and is also
(a) a Protection Applicant (person seeking asylum) not eligible for State support, e.g. Student Support Scheme, or
(b) a person with Stamp 4 Permission to Remain, Subsidiary Protection, Family Reunification, or Refugee Status who is not eligible for State support, e.g. SUSI grant.
Are you required to undertake an English Language exam?
No, usually students progressing from the Access Course to an undergraduate course in St. Angela’s College are not required to take an extra English Language exam as completion of the Access course provides sufficient evidence of proficiency.
What does the bursary include?
Tuition Fee
Student Contribution
(for 1 or 2 years until the student is eligible for state funding)
In addition, the recipient receives the following:
Stipend of €450 towards materials/costs in 1st year only. Laptop may be available via the College Laptop Loan Scheme Advice & support from the Access Office
Undergraduate students can apply to the Access Undergraduate Support Fund for other financial supports e.g. placement and other costs.
Any Other Relevant Information
You must have applied through the CAO prior to 01 February
You must have completed our Access Programme and accept an offer in the college in same year (e.g. September 2021)
