Incontinence Basics
Edgepark offers a wide variety of absorbent and hygienic products that can help manage incontinence.
Types of Incontinence
Stress
Intermittent, slight leakage of urine (caused by laughing, coughing, sneezing, exercising or lifting
heavy objects)
Urge
A sudden, involuntary emptying of the bladder (sometimes called overactive bladder)
Mixed
A combination of stress and urge incontinence
Overflow
The bladder does not release urine when it’s full, resulting in a steady leak of small amounts of urine
Total
A constant loss of urine
Fecal
The inability to control the release of gas, liquid and/or solid stool
Skin Care Products
A variety of products
are available, such as washcloths that clean, moisturize and protect to maintain healthier skin. Powders and creams are available to protect skin and eliminate odor.

Protective Underwear
Look and feel like regular underwear and offer moderate to maximum protection.
Briefs
Fit like underwear but have tabs on the sides, making them easy to take on and off. Available in a wide range of absorbencies. Note: For those who are bowel incontinent, a four-tab brief is recommended.
Bladder Control Pads, Boosters/Liners/ Inserts, Male Guards, Belted Undergarments
Includes body-shaped pad inserts to manage light to heavy urinary incontinence. Used with a mesh or knit- style undergarment, as added protection inside another absorbent product, or inside regular underwear.
Disposable Underpads
Used on wheelchairs or beds to absorb leakage, reduce odor and maintain dryness.
Reusable Products
Reusable, washable products to protect chairs and bedding, as well as a variety of garments. Includes chair and bed pads, protective underwear, briefs and mesh knit pads that hold liners in place.
