Have a trilaminate structure comprising a nonadherent wound contact layer. Highly absorbent central layer; waterproof outer layer prevents bacterial contamination. This structure helps produce a moist wound environment for wounds that have traditionally proven dif cult because the exudate is hard to manage. Usually can be left in place for up to four days.

Unique collagen for use on hard-to-heal wounds or to enhance the rate of wound closure. Deactivate excess protein-degrading enzymes that are barriers to wound closure, while maintaining moisture balance with a secondary dressing. Can be cut to shape or placed in pieces into the wound, and will biodegrade over time. For best results, use on exuding wounds and treat the wound with a bactericidal product such as IODOSORB* or ACTICOAT* for about two weeks before moving to BIOSTEP*.
