INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 LB ground beef
1 slightly beaten egg
salt and pepper
bread crumbs
1 pkg fresh sliced mushrooms
3 Tbls butter
1 Tbls vegetable oil
1 can beef broth
flour
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef with egg, salt and pepper. Shape into oval patties. Place bread crumbs in a shallow pan and press both sides of the patty into the bread crumbs. Refrigerate.
Sauté sliced mushrooms in 2 Tbls butter. Transfer to a plate. Brown patties in the same pan adding 1 Tbls butter and oil. Fry until crisp. Transfer to plate.
Add beef broth to pan dripping. Mix flour and water to a paste consistency. Add to broth and bring to a boil to thicken. Add mushrooms and stir. Add meat and cook to preferred doneness: approximately 15 minutes.
