STUDIO II SPRING 2018
DESIGN BRIEF:
The goal was to redesign Strozier Library on Florida State’s campus. We were placed into groups of three and had
to conduct interviews and research. After our preliminary research we designed both a “library of the future” space, a classroom and student lounge.
THE CONCEPT:
The concept for this design was a ‘foundation’ because these spaces would act as a foundation for learning and self discovery. The concept influenced the users and their experiences by providing stimulating and motivating environments where they can learn and study. The concept was represented in the space through protruding architectural elements such as exposed beams, pilasters, and flooring materials.
