STUDIO II SPRING 2018
DESIGN BRIEF:
The goal was to design residence inspired by New Zealand’s Bach lifestyle for a retired couple. They would have a summer home in Portland, Oregon
and a winter home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Each residence has the
same 1,500 sq. ft. floor plan with different palettes relating to the local vernacular. The design accommodated the couples hobbies along with a solution for aging in place along with balancing multiple ages.
THE CONCEPT:
Magnolia trees inspired this project through their nobility, perseverance, and variety. The concept was reiterated through the furniture orientation, color palette, material durability, and finishes.
