The Central Emporium has been an iconic location on West Lake Okoboji for more than 100 years. The building was originally built in 1901 and has provided entertainment for generations! During the big band era, the entire upstairs of The Central Emporium was a dance hall and hosted famous musicians like Count Basie, the Dorsey Brothers, Woody Herman, Louis Armstrong and Glenn Miller. In 1971 the interior of the building was\u000Ar\u000Aemodelled and renamed The Central Emporium which contained 2 to 3 stores.
