2. Enables seamless interface with HL7, CDA, CCD, DICOM and other profiles without delay or interruption
3. Minimizes turnaround time
4. Provides platforms that are flexible yet easy to administer
The first ARMC integration occurred with mammography interpretations. Canopy integrated the ARMC and Cone mammography storage worlds to allow fluid, intuitive interpretations. Other radiology systems were quickly brought online.
Regional Imaging Timeline
The Regional Imaging Timeline places each patient’s entire imaging history from within the region in one place for access whether in an emergency room setting or for long-term care choices. It enables physicians to continue conducting their work and accessing the full scope of a patient’s history, regardless of what PACS the hospital uses.
Cone and ARMC participate in Canopy’s Regional Imaging Timeline. As a result of the timeline, both healthcare systems are beginning to measure a five to ten percent reduction in image follow up. Fewer imaging studies have financial benefits for patients as well as reduced stress and the uncertainty that is associated with imaging.
Imaging is key to care. Canopy allows the different worlds that exist within the various patient hospital systems to “talk” without interruptions.
Advantages to Canopy Partners’ Regional Imaging Timeline include:
• Immediate availability of relevant priors for interpretation
• Decreased technologist workload
• Normalized workflows across the region
• Increased collaboration, business referral, and patient
satisfaction
• Reductions in duplicative scans and unnecessary imaging
“The single timeline we now have in our PACS, extending to all specialties, directly impacts productivity and efficiency,” noted Steve Shanaberger, Executive Director of Imaging Services at Cone Health.
“THE REGIONAL IMAGING TIMELINE IS A BIG ADVANTAGE TO US BECAUSE PATIENTS TEND TO BOUNCE AROUND. HAVING ALL THE IMAGES STORED IN ONE LARGE DATABASE MAKES IT EASY FOR PHYSICIANS TO PULL THEM, AND THERE’S NO NEED FOR US TO SEND FILES TO OTHER PLACES.”
