LETTER FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB PRESIDENT
Dear Charlotte Latin Hawk Families,
When a sports season ends, team or individual results can be measured in many different ways; wins, losses, records broken, and in some cases, hearts broken. I will reflect on the end of this spring season with an overwhelming feeling of spirit and community. Students, parents, grandparents, fans, and coaches showed up in true Hawk fashion. They cheered, sang, encouraged, and more importantly, they could all come together in a large group and had much fun being together. Some won, some lost, but we have turned a corner; we are back together, and we are not looking back.
Congratulations to our NCISAA Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Champions. Congratulations to Javaris Bufford, who secured an individual state champion title in the triple jump and to Davis Sayman (‘23), who earned medalist with the low score of 66 at the State Golf Championship. And to our Varsity Girls’ Soccer team, you fought hard in the NCISAA State Championship game against PD only to lose by one goal in the end.
On May 18th, our annual Hawkspys event took place in Patten Stadium for the seniors and their parents. We rolled out the red carpet, and the lights shined bright as St. John Photography captured the highlights. This event celebrates our senior athletes, championship teams, and coaches. Thank you to the creative team that made this night such a success. Highlights of the Hawk- spys are featured in this magazine.
I want to extend a sincere thank you to my Booster Board for their support and dedicated volunteer hours this year. I was honored to serve with you. Thank you to our Booster Club members that supported us this year. Your contributions made it possible to com- plete our Vision 2020 contribution ahead of schedule, cover the costs for the Broadcaster streaming contract, order new banners for Patten Field and Field 1, and a SAC lobby branding project is in the works.
Best wishes to you all for a wonderful summer! Best of luck to all of our seniors that will be starting a new chapter of their lives. I look forward to seeing everyone back on campus in the fall.
