cost and level of experience. However, modern-day IPL system have proven very successful in the treatment of many conditions which could only have been treated by lasers twenty years ago.

Manufacturers’ “Pre-sets” – Why are they usually useless?
Many lasers and IPLs are designed with built-in ‘pre-sets’, supposedly to make life easier for the users. However, most of these settings are simply ‘borrowed’ from other manufacturers, with little regard for actual clinical results.
In reality, these settings are often pretty useless because they are not designed to generate good results – they are mostly set to prevent skin damage. This minimises legal liability for the manufacturers/suppliers, but it usually means a string of poor results, or exceedingly long treatments, for the buyers and patients/clients.
The best option, for all users, is to get some proper training and learn how to use your devices properly – based on obtaining good results, not on ‘protecting’ their manufacturers...
Caveat – We should point out that some manufacturers/suppliers do supply excellent systems with proper protocols – they are not all bad!
