Appendix 7 – How do I ‘write’ laser/IPL hair removal?
This is just a bit of fun....
Laser/IPL hair removal is quite complicated and quite easy, at the same time!! But, how would we sum it up in a single statement?
It turns out that this is actually quite easy to do. If we consider that the aim of these treatments is to irreversibly denature the stem cells (cook ‘em dead!), then we can write this in the form of an equation – the Arrhenius damage equation, to be precise:
What this equation tells us is that to achieve an Omega (Ω) greater than, or equal to, 1, then we need be sure that we apply the right combination of time and temperature (δt, T). As long as Omega achieves this criterium, the stem cells cannot regrow – they are toast!!
