Hephaestus was the blacksmith of the gods, and the god of fire and the forge. Though he was very ugly, having been born deformed, he was very talented, and made many gifts. He could control fire, and used it both as a tool and a weapon.
Though these twelve were the ones most known, story says that originally there was one different member of the Olympians. Hestia was the goddess of hearth, and domesticity. Most of all, she cared for peace, so when Dionysus became a god, she gave up her throne and her place, so nobody would fight over who would have to leave instead. She was the gentlest and most generous of the gods.
