         Simple and Compound Sentences
A simple sentence expresses a complete thought. A simple sentence can have a compound subject or a compound predicate.
Examples:
The king was in love with the beautiful princess.
The king and his parents wanted to organize a ball. The princess dressed up and combed herself.
A compound sentence is made up of two simple sentences. These simple sentences are joined by the following coordinating conjunctions or commonly known as connecting words and, or, or but. They can also be joined with a semicolon (;).
Examples:
The princess loves a prince, and they are planning to get married next year.
Prince Wish’s was very happy, but he wanted to marry Princess Darling to be happier.
Princess Darling could accept Prince Wish proposal, or she could stay at the palace taking care of her mother.
