PABLO RUIZ PICASSO was born October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain and died on April 8, 1973, in Mougins, France.
His given name was Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso. Later known as Pablo Picasso.
Pablo Picasso was the son of José Ruiz Blasco, an art professor, and Maria Picasso López.
Picasso’s father was very much involved in his son’s education; he became his teacher when he was just a boy but soon he was surpassed by the talent and techniques of his son.
When he was sixteen he attended The Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, but he didn’t enjoy the formal education of the academy, he soon stopped attending classes.
His work is divided in periods: Blue Period (1901–1904), the Rose Period (1905–1907), the African-influenced Period (1908–1909), Analytic Cubism (1909–1912), and Synthetic Cubism (1912–1919).
Many considered that he is the artist that most influenced the art of the twentieth century.
Picasso’s famous quotes:
“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
“Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth.”
