And, while achieving the seventh spot is commendable, we should note that Toronto had previously ranked fourth in 2016, and 2017. However, while the overall ranking has changed relative to other cities the overall score of Toronto’s liveability hasn’t changed at all; Toronto scored 97.2 in 2016 and 2017 as well. So then what does this mean? The Economist Intelligence

become less liveable, as much as comparable cities have exceeded
previous standings and as a result
and other Canadian cities, must not only strive to maintain current levels; but must look for ways to exceed those levels. Essentially, Toronto must not only fight to remain as liveable as it is now; it must fight to become even more liveable.
As we near another winter and another new year the focus shifts from merely being conscious of how our city’s livability ranks comparative to other cities. This focus shifts to finding ways that as evolving and capable business people, we can be sure to contribute positively to the liveability of our city; not only to drive business but ultimately to have a positive effect of our
