ati Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium was built in 1951 and named to honor Joliet and Will County men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. The 10,000 seat stadium and the surrounding sports complex welcome over 1,000,000 visitors annually. The Stadium has hosted thousands of community events, including high school and collegiate athletics, concerts, midget racing, flea markets and circuses.
In 2010, the Joliet Park District completed a year-long renovation project at the Stadium, replacing the grass field and asphalt track with state of the art Mondo turf and an eight-lane Mondo running track. As part of the renovation, a video scoreboard was installed at the north end.
In 2011, the Joliet Park District entered into a naming rights partnership with ati Physical Therapy for the field in order to continue to provide top quality facilities for the Joliet community.
ati Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium is currently home to football, soccer and track and field events for the University of
St. Francis and Joliet Catholic Academy, as well the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Joliet’s 4th of July Fireworks and the Joliet Chapter of Pink Heals events. The Taste of Joliet, the largest food and music festival in Will County, also welcomed over 50,000 visitors to Joliet Memorial Stadium in 2015. The Stadium is also utilized for national track and field events, youth football, area school’s field days and Joliet Park District youth summer camps.
