twin/double share with continental breakfast.
Your adventure starts at our Clyde Depot where you will be fitted with your bikes, briefed on your tour before beginning your cycling adventure to Lake Roxburgh Village. From Clyde, you can cycle past vineyards and over an old wooden trestle bridge to Alexandra. Alternatively, there is the option of riding on the River Track to Alexandra; this adds another 5km, but well worth it if time and energy allow. The Roxburgh Gorge Trail begins in Alexandra and makes its way to Doctors Point Boat Ramp. Here you will meet up with a local boat operator who transfers you to Shingle Creek. Relax on board the boat while you take in the stunning scenery and history of the area. Disembark at Shingle Creek and continue on your cycle adventure to Lake Roxburgh Village passing the Roxburgh Dam Lookout and its great photo opportunity. Accommodation this night is in the Lake Roxburgh Village.
Start your ride this morning across the top of the hydro dam, joining the Clutha Gold Trail and passing Roxburgh township. The trail follows the sparkling Clutha River / Mata-Au to Millers Flat where you will stay overnight. Lunch options are available to purchase at Roxburgh or Millers Flat.
After breakfast, you will start your journey from Millers Flat, following the river through the Beaumont Gorge before leaving the river and heading inland through rolling farmland. Parts of this route follows an old rail bed through Tunnel Hill and onto your final destination of the historic gold mining township of Lawrence. It is an interesting town to explore the town and there will be time for lunch before your mid-afternoon transport back to Clyde.
can be steeper than the Rail Trail with some climbs and
downhill sections, but the views and scenery make it well worthwhile. The trails take you
