228 Mystic pathways through the bible
Similar is the predicament of people who do not have a spiritual goal in life. If you do not seek the Kingdom of God within, if you do not have Liberation as your goal, then life is spent in trying to cover vast regions of this relative world-process, the realm of maya or illusion. And you go on doing so from incarnation to incarnation, trying to encircle as much “land” as possible from this world. But nothing is really tangible. As you exit from one embodiment and enter into another, you do not carry anything you acquired with you, for it is all left behind. Therefore, Lord Jesus says, “But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (KJV Luke 12:31) Turn your mind to that great goal, the Kingdom of Heaven. Without it, all your attainments become vanities. With it, every attainment yields a purpose.
