Mystic pathways through the bible
Speak to Him, thou, for He heareth, And spirit with Spirit can meet, Nearer is He than breathing, Closer than hands and feet.
And when you have nished your prayers, practice virtue in your day-to-day activities. The spirit of prayerfulness should permeate every good action, making that action itself a form of prayer to the Divine within. If your actions are tainted by greed, deception and cruelty, your prayers are merely words of vanity and hypocrisy.
As the ood-gates of feeling open in your heart, you will nd that words cease and your sentiment for God continues to ow on uninterruptedly, whether you are working or resting, whether you are walking or sitting. Only then has prayer assumed a more intense form. It is this all-engul ng, all-absorbing, and all-purifying stream of prayer that can overcome all degrading inclinations of the soul and lead it to the state of its innermost beauty and glory.
