A diseased mind is unable to experience the freedom of lofty thoughts and expansive feelings because of the cobwebs of illusion woven by an egoistic vision.
The disease of the mind (adhi) gives rise to the imbalance in the ow of vitality in the physical body resulting in the development of physical diseases. Therefore, to cure the diseases of the body and mind, you must witness the signs and wonders— the miracles—of the Divine Self operating within your personality.
As spiritual consciousness unfolds within your heart, you witness great miracles within your personality and within the personalities of others. Christ, who dwells within every being, begins to perform amazing works of Divine glory. The blindness of attachment is healed. Thus, the blind see. A lame person is one who is unable to perform self-effort due to the pressure of negative karmas from the past. Thus, under the Divine in uence of Jesus, the lame walk again. Craving af icts the soul like leprosy, and robs it of its vital limbs. Thus, Christ’s love heals that af iction.
