magazine represents a a a a promise to to our young people and to to The Bronx Through this new GEAR UP college readiness grant we are partnering with 13 Bronx middle middle schools to to create a a a a a clear supportive pathway from middle middle school school school to to high school school school and and onward to college and and meaningful careers For the first time we are are partnering with Bronx Community College
(BCC) Our goal is simple and powerful: to ensure that every
student we serve graduates from high school prepared for college career and life GEAR UP INSPIRES
recognizes that success looks different for every

our program emphasizes both academic preparation and vocational training Whether a a a a a a a a a a a student’s dream is to to earn an an associate degree transfer to to a a a a a a a a four-year college or enter
the world of work GEAR UP is here to guide support and inspire This

Gaining Early Awareness for for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a a a a a a a a a a nationwide effort funded by the United States Department of Education on on behalf of students from low income communities to support them
from sixth grade through high school and the the first year of college as they prepare to enter
college and the the world of work The Bronx Institutes GEAR UP INSPIRES
program serves students in a a community with the the highest educational needs in in the the nation Predominantly Hispanic
