RULES & REGULATIONS
BEACH PARKING Stickers or daily rates apply for parking at town-owned beaches on Cape Cod Bay or fresh water ponds. Daily fees may be paid directly only at Cook’s Brook, Campground, First Encounter, and Wiley Park beaches.
Stickers are available, during season, at the Natural Resources Facility, 555 Old Orchard Road, 1-508-240-5976, www.eastham-ma.gov
BEACH REGULATIONS
1. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the beaches or parking lots at any time.
2. Open res are not permitted on beaches. 3. Littering or discharging of refuse on the
beaches or landing areas is not permitted. 4. No overnight camping, tenting or sleeping
is allowed.
5. Picking of marsh plants and other vegetation
is prohibited.
6. No animals or pets are allowed on any town
beach from June 15th - Labor Day.
SHELLFISHING Permits are required for all shell shing and taking of worms and are avail- able at the Natural Resources Department of ce. Salt Pond and Salt Pond River are open Sundays only (see schedule page 32). Other shell shing areas are open daily from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sun- set.The areas which are closed to Shell shing, and a complete list of Shell shing regulations are available at the Natural Resources Facility. MOTOR BOATS
Motorboats used on freshwater ponds are subject to annual inspection. Inspection at the Natural Resources Department. Maximum horsepower, 3, except 50 at Great Pond. Water skiing/tubing on Great Pond on even numbered days only.A spotter is required for boats towing a skier. Jet skis are allowed out of Rock Harbor landing area (150 feet from swimmers in the bay).
FISHING AND HUNTING Permits are re- quired for fresh and saltwater shing, as well as hunting. Licenses are available online at www.mass.gov/dwele or 1-866-703-1925
MOORINGS All moorings shall be registered annually with the Natural Resources Depart- ment. Applications for mooring permits and a complete set of regulations are available at the Natural Resources Facility.
OFF-ROAD VEHICLES Off-road vehicles are not permitted in Eastham. Off-road vehicles are allowed on Nauset Beach in Orleans and the National Seashore beaches in Provinc- etown. Permits are obtained after the vehicle is inspected. In Orleans call 508-240-3775. In Provincetown, call 508-487-2100.
KITEBOARDING & WINDSURFING
1. No unattended equipment.
2. Set-up and launch from the designated area. 3. In the water, stay 200 feet beyond the inner
buoy at all times.
4. No kiteboarding/windsur ng on Bees river
from June 15th - Labor Day.
5. Not allowed near people or within restricted
area.
6. Check-in at the Gate House.
7. No rigging is allowed within the dune or in the parking area.
8.Yield to beach-goers and swimmers.
The Board of Selectmen, or their designee, may close First Encounter Beach, or any beach, if they feel conditions are unsafe for kiteboard- ers. windsurfers, beach-goers, swimmers, etc.
TRANSFER STATION Stickers are available to taxpayers, during season, at the Natural Resources Facility, 555 Old Orchard Road, 1-508-240-5976, www.eastham-ma.gov. Other times they may be obtained from theTransfer Station Booth, 1-508-240-5970. Visitors, with- out a sticker, may use these facilities for a fee of $10.00 per visit.
