For an enjoyable introduction to shell shing, or as a classic standard,“sure bet’for harvest,Salt Pond is available on Sundays throughout the year. The area is stocked with quahogs, littlenecks, and steamers – oysters are also available in the fall. As low tide varies, the schedule on the left re ects the times when shell shing is open. During the remainder of the year, Salt Pond is open all day on Sundays – be sure to come at low tide. Bring your shell sh permit, basket, rake, and sneakers and have some fun.
• Non Commercial shell shing at Salt Pond on Sundays ONLY
• Areas in Salt Pond that are open to shell shing are posted
• All other areas in Eastham are open at all times between 1⁄2 hour before sunrise to 1⁄2 hour after sunset, unless otherwise posted.
•LIMIT: One LEVEL 10 quart pail per family per week
• SIZE:
o All clams & mussels shall be at least 2” in length
o All quahogs shall be at least 1” in thickness o All oysters shall be at least 3” in length
